I Don't Belong HereThis was the first illustration project I worked on after finishing my design studies in Febrauary 2017. After taking a break from drawing for 2 months, I was motivated to start something that would provide quick output rather than to spend weeks on a single piece of work. Since I am overly precious about having my sketchbooks appear orderly and relatively cohesive, I bound together some thin, bad quality paper and taped and glued some thick card around it to form a cover. Any other support was provided by stickers to stop tearing or splitting. This stopped me from being able to take too much care of the book and it’s content. During May 2017, I filled the book with over 70 small illustrations, most of them during train journeys. At the end of each week I would scan the results and colour them with Photoshop before uploading them to Instagram. The overall project was in in equal measure pointless and liberating. I plan to release a print featuring all illustrations in late 2017 / early 2018 and a second edition of illustrations is also a possibility.
